Mental health affects everyone, but the way we understand and talk about it is often shaped by our cultural background. This means people can have different understandings and experiences of mental health.
These differences matter. Sometimes they make it harder to talk about mental health or to find support that feels respectful and safe.
Black History Month reminds us of the importance of culture and heritage, and the strength that comes from them. Honouring this month helps us recognise the role culture has played in shaping our history and the mental health care we have today.
This month is a chance to learn, reflect, and explore the connections between culture and mental health.
